Hi Judith,
I'm really impressed with your work on the Ellis ceramics. I am hoping to publish an article about the Kratochlivs and was hoping that you might be interested in contributing.
Best wishes,
Veronica

I sometimes find great chunks of posts of mine have been copied and pasted into spam sites. One consolation is that they are never up for too long. It is one of the hazards of having a blog I suppose. I try not to worry about it too much. I am pleased that you fixed the wikipedia article. Cheers Kim

There are some fine pieces by Eric Jucket in the Shapiro auction this weekend. I see that these come from his estate.

I believe that it is Vic's brother Noel. I remember reading one of Vic’s articles and that Noel taught ceramics in Melbourne somewhere? If I come across the item I will send more details. Regards Rick

Hi,
I have been a losing bidder to drofe many times over the past on ebay. However I can now see what you were trying to do so I take back those comments I muttered at the time.
My particular interest is in collecting Eric Juckert pieces, but I have also gathered together a wider range of mainly 50's to 80's Australian pottery.

My interest in Juckert started by accident about 35 years ago when visiting friends on Phillip Island and we went to Eric's pottery there. I bought one piece and gave it to my mother.
Then in 2003 I bought a book from pdubooks on ebay and happened to see an item by Juckert. Things just rolled on from there and my collection has just gone on to be a little out of control. But I must say that it has been a fascinating experience . I have no idea about making pottery but do love the texture, colour and design that these inspired potters produce.

Of course if I am ever in your area I will have a look at your beautiful collection. I live in South Australia and don't usually travel to Sydney that way.

In the meantime please keep up the blog and the display which I will obviously visit when time allows.

Kind regards

Hi Johanna,

Thank you for this lead. I will keep an eye out for Val Charles' work.

Hi Judith
I don't know what happened to my previous comment but I feel that might be the work of Val Charles, a Sunshine Coast potter in the '80's, '90's

I used to work at ellis ceramics, it was my first job. Nicholson St Abbotsford in the back of an old red brick building, can't believe people are now collecting it. I have quite a bit myself that i've picked up in op shops etc. when i left all the workers (including the boss and his wife) of which there were only about 12, signed a flower pot for me. It eventually cracked and went in the rubbish, wish I still had it.
